“My recent underwater photography experience with Jessie was nothing short of liberating. I wasn't planning to do a solo photo shoot during pregnancy, but when a spot became available with littlegreeneyes my heart yearned to be a part of the artful magic she creates. At 34 weeks pregnant, I was hesitant, as moving my body through my normal day-to-day activities is a bit... challenging. But underwater, everything was different. Jessie's calm demeanor and encouraging words brought forward something new. I felt free in my body, playful, sensual. With my eyes closed, I felt my attention draw inward to myself and my baby and this beautiful dance that we are in within this one body. While I expected the shoot to be a very visual experience, it wasn't at all. With my eyes closed, shooting underwater was quite an inner journey, without any outer visual reference, and that in itself felt wonderful. Then seeing the photos. Wow. The moment of matching the images with my felt experience... Of looking at these incredible photos for the first time, and knowing that with my eyes closed, this was the magic happening all around me. When I was designing my album cover art, I wanted something dreamy, but not cheesy or cliche. When I saw Jessie’s underwater photography I knew immediately that this was the right match. “I am far from elegant but you would never know that looking at the final photos that Jessie sent me. I felt more like a manatee than a mermaid as I tried to relax my face and move gracefully through the water but somehow Jessie caught incredible shots. (Though I'm sure the ones she withheld captured some of that awkwardness..)
I'd never done an underwater shoot and the closest I'd come is seeing one on Amerca's Next Top Model circa 2004. I am not a natural in front of the camera either, but immediately felt Jessie's professionalism, expertise, and empathy as she took a few minutes pre-shoot to explain exactly how things would go (including the fact that she was still new to this and didn't know exactly how things would go), a way to keep time (which I appreciated as a client in not being shocked that it was over, but instead having an idea of a countdown!) and our options. Although the pool was a bit chilly, her positive attitude and willingness to be flexible in every way (including an option to ditch the pool and just do photos in a hot tub) made me feel immediately comfortable.
I loved that Jessie can work with "normal" people who aren't influencers or models and make the shoot work. I am SO grateful for that and not feeling stupid not knowing where to put my hands or where to look.”

The photoshoots that Jessie facilitates are not just a photoshoot. It is an experience. It is an important ceremony and an affirming practice of embodiment. As someone who has struggled with body dysmorphia for as long as I can remember, I was really nervous to step into such a vulnerable space. Jessie's engagement and thoughtful questions throughout our time together eased my anxiety and her direction during the shoot was so affirming.
I left feeling stronger, more grounded, and more beautiful than I have in a long while.
I'm grateful to have made this investment as a part of my journey back to myself, back to my body. This experience will forever be a tipping point in my ongoing healing journey.

I took an unconventional approach to "maternity photo shoot" and instead of standing in a field, smiling and cradling my bump, I contacted the dear friend of mine, @littlegreeneyes. Jess is an incredibly talented photographer who has been experimenting with nude underwater photography for a while now. I
've been following her work while living in Australia and when I heard she moved back to our hometown, I jumped at the opportunity to work with her. Jess made the incredibly intimidating idea of jumping in a pool, nude, at 33wks pregnant, a complete joy. Jess made it fun! She was gentle with my comfort level and coached me when needed. When I was out of breath, she knew when I needed a break. She was perfectly in tune with my needs. I couldn't imagine a better person to work with. I'm forever grateful she worked her magic to capture this special moment for us. However intimidating it may be to expose my body during this transition, I hope by doing so that other women unashamedly embrace the beauty and wonder of their own.”

“Working with Jessie was a truly beautiful and very liberating experience.
She has a very calm and gentle presence about her which was extremely comforting to have when stepping into such a unique experience.
Shooting with her felt amazingly collaborative and she was encouraging and supportive as I surrendered to the process.
I found that being immersed in water offered a unique kind of protection, as if being held by the water. Despite being naked I felt as if I was wearing the water, fabric and foliage that moved around me.
Any self consciousness almost immediately melted away. The weightless environment created grace and flow that is totally unique to being underwater. You are forced to slow down, let the water move you and surrender to the elements and environment at play.
Jessie is undoubtedly talented but it's her unique interest in human nature and relationships that I believe sets her work apart. Her interest in improving relationships extends to the one we have with ourselves and our own bodies.
Having always admired underwater photography I had never imagined myself to be in front of the lens. The opportunity to dive into this space was really special, allowing me to see myself differently; stripped back, vulnerable and raw. The experience allowed me to admire my own beauty and the stunning images are something I will always treasure and be proud of
